Coronary Heart Disease Deaths by County:
All counties experienced a decline in the rates of coronary
heart disease between 1990 and 2006, with declines approximating
almost 50 percent.
Cancer Deaths by County: Hawai'i and Kaua'i experienced a decline in cancer mortality
between 1990 and 2006, while Honolulu and Kaua'i's cancer mortality rate increased.
Statewide, the cancer mortality rate decreased 3 percent between 1990 and 2006; the U.S. rate decreased 16 percent during the same time period.
